Mary Hope Griffin, MD, FAAP

Dr. Mary Hope Griffin was drawn to the medical field out of her desire to help those around her live life to the fullest. The idea of personal dignity animates her approach to life, and she is excited to open a practice based on this principle. She gravitated toward medicine because she knew she could make a difference and has been changing patients’ lives for 25 years. Dr. Griffin received her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame.

With a firm belief that the best medical care is based on shared decision making between physician and patient, Dr. Griffin keeps equal respect and opportunity at the core of her work. Before completing her residency, Dr. Griffin’s desire to make a difference brought her to practice medicine in Rwanda in East Africa. Following her travels, she completed her residency at University of Chicago Hospitals.

Dr. Griffin is board certified in pediatrics. She has spent her entire career working for children, the most vulnerable in society. Because of her love for children, her area of special interest is in developmental pediatrics, and she evaluates for developmental delay in toddlers and autism in all children . She believes that serving a community means supporting those on the margins, be it from age, race, or economic status. Outside of medicine, she enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling with her husband and children.
